Good Food,
Shared with Purpose

There’s a reason behind everything we share.
At Alishan, we bring you organic, vegetarian, and sustainable food—
nurturing healthy, delicious living while honoring the gifts of nature.

What is Alishan?

Alishan began in 1988, when Jack and Fay moved to the lush mountains of Saitama.
Wanting to share the organic and vegetarian foods that were hard to find in Japan at the time,
they started by simply offering them to friends and neighbors.

Today, their red American-style barn—built by hand—welcomes sustainably sourced ingredients from around the world.
At our riverside café, complete with a deck that overlooks the water, you can enjoy hearty vegetarian meals,
browse the market, or join in our seasonal events.

Cafe & Shop

Enjoy vegetarian dishes made with seasonal vegetables and
organic ingredients from around the world—plus handmade, all-natural sweets.
